Our Little Firecracker

Addison loved the fourth of July. She did sleep through the fireworks, but given the fact that she's Wes's daughter and a member of the Jumper family, I don't think she has any choice but to be enthralled by them. No watermelon or barbecue for her this year- maybe next time.
We went to the developmental pediatrician this week, and they were very pleased with Addison's progress. Each visit they've evaluated her gross motor development and plotted her score on a curve to compare with other children her age (not just kids with DS). Last time she was less than the 5th percentile, but this time she was in the 25th percentile. The physical therapist said it's not uncommon for kids with DS to not even be on the chart. They were very impressed with her rolling, propping and pivoting, and said she's doing all the things she should be.
The end of this week we are headed to Boston to see Grammy and Bop-Bop, and to attend the National Down Syndrome Convention. Hopefully we will gain lots of knowledge that will help us give Addison the very best opportunities and advantages she can have.

I just came across your blog - your daughter is adorable! Some of her pictures remind me a lot of my daughter when she was a baby :) We're also going to the convention in Boston; it'll be our first time, and I'm really looking forward to it!
